Holly's Flowers Giclee Canvas Wrap
Holly's Flowers
Copyright 2001
"Holly's Flowers" is the name of this image. It's a print from the original painting I did. I love this happy little flower shop, all decked out for Christmas. The inspiration for the building is a
pretty little bar in Carmel, CA. I took photos of it years ago, and painted Holly's, and turned it into a flower shop. There's an every day version, called "Phoebe's Flowers", and then this Christmas version.
CRAFTSMANSHIP AND MATERIALS
Giclee printing (pronounced Jee-clay) is considered to be the highest quality digital reproduction technique for fine art. This is an archival-quality giclée print of my original painting, created with the highest care to capture the depth, color, and detail of the artwork. The canvas is stretched on 3/4 inch bars, with the image wrapping around the sides, giving it a finished look that is ready to hang. Framing is optional but not required.
SIZE AND DIMENSIONS
Available in 8x10 inches, 12x15 inches, 16x20 inches, or 20x25 inches, this canvas print is perfect for a range of spaces, from intimate nooks to larger statement walls.
SYMBOLISM AND MEANING
The use of flowers and garlands at Christmastime is rooted in ancient traditions. Early Romans celebrated the winter solstice with garlands of evergreens as symbols of endurance and eternal life. In the 1600s, poinsettias became linked to Christmas in Mexico, where legend tells of a humble gift of weeds miraculously blossoming into brilliant red flowers—symbols of love and devotion. Over the centuries, garlands of holly, ivy, and pine came to adorn homes, churches, and doorways, bringing both beauty and blessing. Today, Christmas flowers and garlands remind us of hope, joy, and the enduring spirit of the season, welcoming all with warmth and festive cheer.
